Hi all!
I thought I should write something about computers somewhere... but what? I have no idea. Just send me a
mail if there is something you want me to put up!
Now I thought I could perhaps start with some of the mistakes I have made with computers
This will be a list of some of the stupid mistakes you can make(and that I HAVE made), if you don`t have a clue:-)
When I bought my first RAM, I didn`t know what I was looking for, and bought the one they had the most of... This actually worked, but could easily
have been a waste of money...
When I bought my first screencard (I wanted to play some 3D game, and didn`t have a 3D card), the salesman asked me if I wanted an AGP or PCI card.
I didn`t know, so I hiked home and checked, and returned the next day convinced that I needed a PCI card(for younger readers, we`re NOT talking PCI
Xpress here..). When I got it installed it never really worked properly, and after many hours I ended up throwing it away. The error, I later discovered,
was that it was in conflict with my AGP card... ( I missed the AGP card-port cause` there was a card in it, believe it or not...)
I installed Windows Millennium edition (ME) when it first launched...
I tried to fitt the wrong kind of RAM by trimming it with a knife.(I KNOW!)
Will put up more stuff as I think of it...
